Fresh Cantaloupe and Organic Bananas Baby Smoothie

 Cantaloupe and bananas go so well together. Don’t they?

While grocery shopping early this week, I ran into a large pile of organic cantaloupes and bananas,  displayed side by side. So rich and appetizing. I would be surprised if you tell me that any of these fruits aren’t among your favorites. Choosing cantaloupe can be tricky at times. Look for firm hard melon with no apparent bruises or moldy patches. Also, try to find a piece with a nice, sweet, fragrant aroma close to the stem. I also prefer organic bananas. Generally yellow with just a bit of green.

Blending these fruits make a frothy, creamy smoothie. A quick, refreshing baby smoothie, that my young daughter (and us), fondly enjoyed this week. Unequivocally it makes a great afternoon drink for our young ones (and for you and me) all year round.  I hope you try it too!

Continuing with the series of baby purées and smoothies paired up with lovable books in languages that I have mentioned in previous posts, I used to read to my daughter the book in Spanish Ines del Revésby Anita Jeram. For beginner readers, this book illustrates how little Inés put her shoes on the wrong feet and her hat on backward… but ends the day with a big hug to her parents. Very sweet.

You need:

1/2 organic cantaloupe
2 ripen organic bananas (preferable)
1/2 cup of organic whole milk (optional)
No need to add sugar (optional)

Steps:
Remove skin and seeds from cantaloupe. Cut into large pieces. Reserve.Peel bananas and cut into small pieces. Place fruits in a blender add milk. Blend until a smooth consistency is reached. You may substitute milk with water (if you preferred).

Serve it right away. Enjoy it together!
