After experiencing one of the coldest winters we can remember in years , with unprecedented swings in winter temperatures, we have been long hoping to see Spring, or even just the first signs of it, with much anticipation .
Today, Spring has finally arrived.
As powerful as the winter we just passed, Spring has sprung in force, and it is gorgeous out there. Sunny, bright, with an endless blue sky. It is officially the first day of Spring , and Cherry blossoms are the perfect statement of it . They are all dressed up and in full swing.
My eyes move in every direction , mesmerized by the foliage, flowers and leaves, ranging from pale whites to the most subtle pastel palette and hues we can discern.
I am working on a Homemade Lemon Tart, fresh, comforting and simple. Perfect to welcome a fresh new season; I will be sharing the recipe with you in my next post. This tart makes me travel back to Ama’s kitchen (my mother’s kitchen) where she divided a freshly-baked lemon tart among us to savor with a big cup of milk. For her, to go along with an afternoon cup of tea.
My kitchen windows are wide open since early this morning… I’m letting every ray of sunshine come in accompanied by the breeze.
I will be back soon!
