The foundation of a basic baking batter is simple: eggs, flour, sugar and butter.

Isn’t it?

Well, this is what a classic pound cake is made of. Four authentic ingredients. Quatre Quarts, meaning Four Fourths.

Four ingredients used in exactly equal amounts. Even for those who can never memorize a recipe, this is one that’s hard to forget.

The combination of these four ingredients builds up a crusty, moist, spongy, delicious, very hard to resist pound cake.

We can do it. Can we not?

No other flavoring is needed. Just grab a piece, with a fresh cup of milk, a cup of tea, with fresh fruit, and simply contemplate with every bite.
