Homemade Pear Wafers



Pear wafers are the perfect companion to a good panna cotta, ice-cream (specially vanilla), or sorbets. Fruit wafers dress up our favorite cheese platters and go quite well with blue cheeses.

For these homemade pear wafers I used a mandoline and picked Barlett Pears. Nonetheless, any other variety will do just fine.

I got fully inspired by the simplicity of this recipe. Hope you like them as much as we did!

Serves: 6
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 sensational pears, thinly sliced
  1. Preheat oven to 320°F. Place the sugar on a plate and press the pear slices into it. Place the slices on baking trays lined with baking paper and bake for 15 minutes, turn and cook for a further 15 minutes. Cool on wire racks until crisp.
