After a long, gray season, it’s been wonderful to finally go out to photograph branches in full pastel bloom.
Spring is back in the Pacific Northwest, everywhere you look. We’re enjoying the mesmerizing effect of looking at the cherry blossom trees displaying an array of soft, diffused pastel hues. Our winter has been long. Very long. At times we felt we were drenched for days with the incessantly falling rain. This winter also brought us snow. Twice.
All that now seems far away in our memories, as we look at the gorgeous trees welcoming the most beautifully painted Spring. Every year, around this time, I like to come back to share with you what Spring in our region has to offer, here, here, and here.
Standing under the beauty of these branches to capture as much detail as they will give up renews me. I must shoot quickly as their fragile blooms may disappear in front of my eyes with a subtle wind blowing, missing the chance to record their beauty.
Has Spring arrived for you back home?
I hope it has.
